Liverpool should join Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the young Italian.

Jurgen Klopp manager

Jurgen Klopp has an incredibly strong group of players currently at his disposal at Liverpool.

The Reds nearly won their first top flight title since 1990, missing out to Manchester City by just one point. They did go all the way in the Champions League, however.

Bearing that in mind, it is hard to pinpoint an area of Klopp’s squad that needs improvement.

The truth is though, if Liverpool are to go on and win the Premier League title next season, Klopp must strengthen this summer.

And one area where the German definitely could make a slight improvement is his central midfield department.

Liverpool are currently well-stocked with hard working central midfielders including the likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Fabinho, but last season, they sometimes lacked that little bit of extra creativity and guile in the engine room.

With this in mind, Liverpool should attempt to hijack Tottenham’s reported interest in AS Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo.

He’s comfortable in possession

The Italian, 20, is technically excellent. He is cool and composed when in possession and he would undoubtedly be a really useful asset for the Reds in the middle of the park.

Creativity and vision

Zaniolo is an exceptional passer of the football, and he would add some much-needed creativity and guile to Liverpool’s play through the middle of the park.

Age…he could be an absolute star of the future

At just 20, the Roma ace will surely only get better and better, and he could go on to become one of the best midfielders in world football.

Italian publication Calcio Mercato claims that Zaniolo is valued at around €50 million (£45 million) by Roma.

And under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, he might just prove to be a real steal for that kind of money.
