There are reports in Il Corriere della Sera that Liverpool are considering a raid for Lazio’s co-owned midfielder Antonio Candreva this summer.
Lazio are expected to try and persuade Udinese to sell their share in Antonio Candreva at the end of the season, but Liverpool may be lying in wait.
Candreva has established himself in Cesare Prandelli’s Italy squad and his career has been going from strength to strength over the last couple of years.
As well as for his vision and pace, Candreva is highly regarded for his versatility as he is able to play centrally or on the wing.
Lazio only own half of Candreva at present with the other 50 percent of his rights in the hands of Serie A rivals Udinese.
The Roman native has become a hero to the Lazio fans and they will exert considerable pressure on club President Claudio Lotito to keep him at the Stadio Olimpico.
At the end of the season the two clubs will resolve his ownership and reports suggest that Lazio will table an offer of around £7m to buy him outright.
The decisions over Candreva’s future may be made before the World Cup kicks off in order to prevent further bids coming in from abroad in he performs well for Italy.
Liverpool have strong links in Italy and have done business before with Udinese, signing Andrea Dossena in 2008. They are reportedly currently in touch with the Zebrette regarding midfield talent Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.
