Liverpool should make an attempt to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata ahead of Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that United manager Jose Mourinho has made the signing of Morata one of his priorities this summer, and that Madrid want a transfer fee in the region of £70 million in order to part company with the 24-year-old.
Morata is a brilliant striker, and when given the chance, he has shown what he is capable of.

The 24-year-old scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 14 La Liga starts for Madrid last season, and scored three goals and provided one assist in nine Champions League appearances, according to WhoScored.
The two-time Champions League winner with Madrid would certainly enhance United’s chances of winning the Premier League title next season, and which is why Liverpool should make a move.
Liverpool need a proven goalscorer as well, and Morata fits the fills. The former Juventus star is a very clinical striker who is also quite powerful.
The 24-year-old Spain international is a very mobile player as well, and he is not shy from creating chances or making tackles – he won 12 out of the 37 tackles he made in La Liga last season, according to Squawka.com.
A very dynamic player who scores in big games, Morata would be the perfect addition to the current Liverpool team.
The Reds would also deal bitter rivals United a huge blow in their bid to the Premier League title next season by signing the Spain international.
