According to ESPN, Liverpool have an interest in Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley.

The youngster has been shining at Celtic Park since making the move from MK Dons in January, and he’s seemingly caught the eye of some elite teams.

Liverpool supporters would have every reason to be excited if O’Riley was brought in. After all, he’s looked like an absolute star since arriving at Celtic, but one Premier League fanbase probably won’t be too happy to hear this rumour.

Indeed, Fulham supporters will be feeling sick to their stomachs if O’Riley ends up at Liverpool.

Fulham are becoming something of a feeder club to Liverpool. Both Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho have signed for the Reds from the Whites in recent years, and now, O’Riley could follow that same path.

Much like Elliott and Carvalho, O’Riley came through the Fulham academy, but, just like the two Liverpool stars, he would eventually leave on a free transfer.

O’Riley left Fulham in search of more gametime, which, in due course, he found at MK Dons and eventually Celtic, and now, he’s ready to make the jump to the Premier League.

Liverpool are keen, and if this deal goes ahead, Fulham will surely be seething.

Just imagine being Fulham in this scenario. Your years of yo-yoing, poor signings and mismanaging youth may be about to backfire in the most embarrassing way possible.

Three young stars who’ve all left for free, could soon be lining up for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in midfield – arguably the best club side on the planet, while the Whites scramble around for an extra depth option in the middle of the park in the final days of the transfer window.

Fulham’s youth mismanagement has come back to haunt them on a few occasions, but if the trio of Elliott, O’Riley and Carvalho are reunited at Anfield, they will be sick to the back teeth.
