Liverpool under-21 coach Michael Beale is looking ahead to next season, and has picked out four players he expects to work with, who will make the jump up from the under-18s.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, he commented: “I am now looking at the bottom end of the group now, the boys who are really young and may be with me next year.
“Boys like Herbie Kane, Adam Phillips, Conor Masterson and Toni Gomes. They will come into the U21s and I will start my journey with them.”
Beale needs to add new faces to the squad, with Cameron Brannagan, Kevin Stewart and Sheyi Ojo now regarded by manager Jurgen Klopp as part of his first team set up.

Herbie Kane has been highly rated ever since the Reds signed him from Bristol City as a 14-year-old.
Now 17, the central midfielder has predictably been compared to Steven Gerrard, and if he were to progress into the under-21 side next season it would be a big step forward for him.

Conor Masterson is an Irish defender, who even featured on the bench for Liverpool in the FA Cup this past season.
Portuguese youth international Toni Gomes is also a player for who Liverpool have high hopes, having seen him score regularly up front for the under-18s, including an impressive hat-trick against Sunderland earlier this year.
Adam Phillips – Liverpool
Midfielder Adam Phillips has already featured for the under-21s, and was selected in pre-season games by Brendan Rodgers. The 18-year-old attacking midfielder will hope to make a big impact this season and potentially start pushing for first team involvement in 12 months time.
