One of the assistants to Klopp has spoken about the side’s competitive environment, as well as working as a team.
Peter Krawietz, one of Jürgen Klopp’s assistants at Liverpool, has told the club’s official magazine that they have tried to create an atmosphere on the club based on competitiveness.
But that competitiveness is also a source of trying to get everyone to work together and pull in the same direction.
Krawietz told the official Liverpool magazine: “We’ve tried to create an atmosphere among the squad which is always really competitive. As a team we know that the only way we can reach anywhere is by working together.

“We try to ‘live’ this in our coaching team, to be a good example of how you can all work effectively as a group. Six, eight or 10 of us will always see more than just one or two. We can have more ideas if we all work together, discuss and find the best solutions.
“We try to show the players the same too. For them it’s really important. ‘TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More’ – that’s what we always stress to them.”
It seems to have paid off so far during their time at Anfield. During last season they showed they can get the better of some of the best teams in the country, though a lack of consistency meant only an eighth place finish in the Premier League – while the side also got a taste for reaching cup finals – namely the League Cup and Europa League where they would come up short on both occasions.

There are examples of the very competitive environment within the squad in terms of team selection. Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are both forwards who feel they can make a big contribution to the side this season – but are having to make do with a place on the bench for now.
This season it looks as if Liverpool have kicked on in the league and are mounting a serious challenge for the title, having gone top of the Premier League following Sunday’s 6-1 win over Watford.
Kraweitz added: “We’ve had some good results in the first few months but you can always do better. If you look at the details after each game you will get ideas about how you can do things in a better way.”
That is another indication that those at the club don’t seem to be getting ahead of themselves after showing impressive signs of progress over the past year, and with their impressive start to the season.
