Liverpool fans may not be too familiar with the name Mateusz Musialowski, but he’s earning early praise.
The Reds swooped to sign Polish talent Musialowski from SMS Lodz over the summer, with claims that he scored a ridiculous 130 goals in 80 games at youth level.
Musialowski primarily plays as a right-sided winger, and has been featuring in Liverpool’s Under-18’s in the early stages of his Reds career.
The Liverpool Echo now carry quotes made by Under-18 coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, which he made after a win over Newcastle at the end of October.
Bridge-Wilkinson has praised Musialowski, claiming that he has settled in really well at Liverpool and is getting up to speed after some niggling injuries.
Bridge-Wilkinson added that Musialowski is a ‘really good’ footballer and can go past players at ease, even suggesting that he can play centrally if needed.

“He’s settled really well – all of the new boys have settled really well, Matty being one of them,” said Bridge-Wilkinson. “He has been a little bit unfortunate because he has had a couple of little niggling injuries through pre-season and into the season. But hopefully we will now get him back into training fully and build up his game minutes and see where we go from there.”
“He is a really good footballer. He can go past people one-v-one and he can link the game and play with others, so whether he plays centrally or off the side, I don’t think it will bother him,” he added.
It’s a long path to the Liverpool first team for Musialowski, but these comments will leave fans excited about the 17-year-old’s future at Anfield.
