It’s a big season on the horizon for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Liverpool.
Liverpool dropped £40 million on signing him from Arsenal four years ago and his influence has been gradually declining.
Last season, he started only two Premier League games and managed 243 minutes in total in this competition – the equivalent of less than three full matches.
But there’s no doubt that Oxlade-Chamberlain is a fine talent and it looks like he is starting to show that in training.
According to Jurgen Klopp’s assistant Pep Lijnders, the former Arsenal winger – now a midfielder – is scoring some ‘absolute worldies’ behind the scenes.
He told Liverpool’s official website: “I also have to highlight that Ox has scored some absolute worldies in training in these last few days – and you absolutely love to see it!”
Gini replacement?
What a boost it could be for Liverpool if the England international gets his groove back.
After all, Klopp needs another midfielder after losing Gini Wijnaldum on a Bosman.
The Dutchman was a very important player for the Anfield club and one who could be expensive to replace.
Unless of course Liverpool already have a ready-made replacement in the form of the Ox.
