Jermain Defoe has said on Sky Sports Premier League (1:04pm, December 19, 2021) that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will win the Premier League title ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
The Rangers striker has said that Manchester City are the team to beat, but he is also aware of the threat that Liverpool and Chelsea pose to the defending champions.
City are top with 41 points from 17 matches, a point clear of second-placed Liverpool.
Chelsea are third with 37 points from17 games.
Defoe said: “For me, City are still the team to beat with the squad that they have. It’s the know-how. They have been in this position before. Liverpool firing also. Chelsea have been good.”
Manchester City, Liverpool or Chelsea?
As Defoe points out, City have a great squad and have some wonderful players.
Phil Foden has been good this season, while Kevin De Bruyne has not been at his best.
It is Bernardo Silva who is leading City’s Premier League title charge.

Just imagine how strong City will be when De Bruyne is back to his best!
However, we cannot ignore Liverpool and Chelsea.
In our opinion, the Premier League title race will go down to the final weekend of the season.
Liverpool are banging in the goals for fun, and are defensively great as well.
Chelsea have been disappointing of late, but when star striker Romelu Lukaku is back firing again, then they will get even better.
We think that this season’s Premier League title race could be the most exciting in recent years.
