Liverpool are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Tino Livramento, but the teenager is set to move to Southampton instead, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The Athletic are reporting today that Liverpool and Everton are among the clubs who have shown interest in Chelsea prospect Livramento.
Aston Villa, Arsenal, Manchester City and Brighton and Hove Albion are also keen on the 18-year-old defender.
However, it is Southampton who are set to win the race for the England Under-19 international defender.
It is being reported that Livramento is Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s top target this summer.
The 18-year-old, who can operate as full-back or a wing-back on either flank, will go straight into the Saints’ first team.
The Daily Mail have claimed that Southampton will pay Chelsea £5 million for Livramento.

Did Liverpool stand a chance?
It was always going to be tough for Liverpool to convince Chelsea to sell them one of their bright young prospects.
After all, Liverpool and Chelsea are Premier League title rivals.
Moreover, Livramento would have had to play for the Liverpool youth team first.

After all, the English defender is only 18, and the Reds do have options at the back.
At Southampton, it seems that Livramento will be part of the first-team squad straightaway.
It will be interesting to see how Livramento does for Southampton in the Premier League.
