Liverpool have lost the Champions League final – and Everton striker Richarlison has taken to Twitter to poke fun at the Reds.

Liverpool headed to Paris on Saturday night with dreams of completing a superb treble.

The Carabao Cup and FA Cup were in the bag for Liverpool but they had missed out on the Premier League title last week.

The Champions League final against Real Madrid was Liverpool’s last shot at the treble but it just wasn’t to be.

Vinicius Junior swooped in to score a second-half winner and Real saw out the game brilliantly.

Just as they did in 2018, Real overcame Liverpool in the Champions League final to leave Jurgen Klopp and co devastated.

Liverpool have lost the Champions League final

To go from dreams of a quadruple to winning two trophies may feel very disappointing for Liverpool.

You also have to add in that Liverpool have played 330 minutes of football in cup finals this season without scoring a single goal.

That will be something for Jurgen Klopp to try and tackle over the summer as it’s all a little raw for Liverpool right now.

On the other side of the city though, Everton fans are having a decent laugh.

The Toffees only just managed to stay in the Premier League, a far cry from Liverpool’s achievements this season.

Yet what is football without a little pettiness in a big rivalry?

Everton striker Richarlison loves to poke fun at Liverpool fans; we saw him do it last week as the Reds missed out on the Premier League title.

As the final whistle blew in Paris, Richarlison was there again.

This time, Richarlison poked fun at Liverpool and their fans.

There had been a hoax over the course of Saturday suggesting that a coach driver named ‘Richard Arlison’ had left Liverpool fans stranded rather than taking them to Paris.

This wasn’t true, but the idea of an elaborate hoax about Richarlison prompted memes of the Brazilian driving a bus.

Sure enough, Richarlison took to Twitter to post that very meme, seemingly laughing at Liverpool’s defeat in the process.

This will only make Everton fans love Richarlison even more but Liverpool fans will of course be eager for some retribution next season.
