Liverpool chairman Tom Werner would have preferred to be facing Ajax than Tottenham.

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has praised Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the Champions League final.
The two Premier League teams compete in the first all English final since 2008 this weekend, battling to win European football’s ultimate club prize.
Werner told the Liverpool Echo he respects Tottenham and what they have achieved to get to this stage.
He also hinted he would have preferred to be facing beaten semi-finalists Ajax, as they are more unfamiliar with Spurs.
Werner said: “They are an outstanding team with an outstanding coach.
“They have an advantage that Ajax wouldn’t have had if they had got through as Tottenham have played us a couple of times already this year.
“I think it’s going to be a very close game. They know our squad well and we know their squad too.”

The advantage goes both ways of course, with Liverpool being familiar with Tottenham too.
The Reds won both games against Tottenham this season, which will only increase their anxiety to do it again.
Losing the most important one would be particularly painful.
