Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (6:12pm, January 2, 2022) that Caoimhín Kelleher played well for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool against Chelsea at the weekend.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that it was a big test for Kelleher to play for Liverpool against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
And, according to the former Manchester United defender, the 23-year-old goalkeeper passed it.
Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw with Chelsea in London.
Neville was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League game for Sky Sports.
The pundit said: “I think he has been very good, Kelleher. It has been a big ask. It has been a big game to come into.”

Caoimhín Kelleher now important for Liverpool
Kelleher played for Liverpool against Chelsea due to Alisson missing the game because of coronavirus issues.
And it is very likely that the Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper will retain his place in the team for a few more games.
In our opinion, Kelleher did well against Chelsea, and the Liverpool fans should be confident about him between the posts.
The Republic of Ireland international could not do much about the two goals that he conceded, but other than that, he was brilliant.
Kelleher made some good saves and commanded his area well.
Another positive about Kelleher’s performance was that he did not look fazed facing the quality Chelsea attacking players.
