Liverpool have been linked to Marco Reus for what seems like an eternity but the German winger has remained with Borussia Dortmund.

Nobody knows him better than his former boss Jurgen Klopp, which makes it all the more unlikely that the Liverpool boss will allow him to sign with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Mirror report Spurs are plotting a move for for Reus, as the winger weighs up his future.

Reus has a poor track record with injuries but he is a tremendous player and at this stage of his career probably needs a new challenge and a fresh start.

Reus is a major talent and Jurgen Klopp is the manager who has proven he can get the best out of him.

It seems unthinkable he would pass on the chance to sign Reus and let him strengthen a rival.

Liverpool have money to spend after selling Coutinho and can offer higher wages than Tottenham will be willing to.

Reus would add to one of the most exciting attacks in Europe and give Klopp more options to rotate his side.

Letting him end up in North London could end up being an own goal.
