Liverpool look set to sign Calvin Ramsay with the Aberdeen defender preferring a move to Anfield as he prepares to leave PIttodrie.

Liverpool have already made a couple of moves for the summer window but both have an eye towards the future.

Playmaker Fabio Carvalho has joined from Fulham whilst Liverpool have also raided Celtic for teenager Ben Doak.

Doak looks to be a huge talent and has already made his debut for Celtic and Liverpool may now look for another Scottish signing.

Liverpool look set to sign Calvin Ramsay

Liverpool have been linked with Aberdeen talent Ramsay for some time now and appear to be closing in.

Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a fan of the right back and wants to sign him as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s main competition.

That likely means that Neco Williams will be sold by Liverpool this summer.

The Daily Record now claim that Liverpool will offer £3.5million for Ramsay with ‘big add-ons’ included in the deal.

Leeds United are keen on Ramsay too but Liverpool is understood to be his preferred destination.

The Liverpool Echo add that Ramsay wants to play for Klopp and a move to Liverpool could now be agreed this week.

Ramsay, 18, played 33 times for Aberdeen this past season and racked up an impressive nine assists.

Hailed as an ‘elite’ young talent by Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack, Ramsay is being backed for a huge future.

Ramsay’s potential move to Liverpool also opens up an intriguing right back battle for Scotland.

Ramsay and Nathan Patterson are seen as the future of that position and both will be on Merseyside with Patterson now at Everton.

Given the level of other Premier League interest, Liverpool will no doubt be delighted to win the race for the teenage right back this summer.
