Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has joked that he won’t be able to sign Arsenal’s David Luiz this summer as he has just signed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking in his post match interview after Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, which was covered by Hayters on Youtube, it was put to Klopp that Luiz proved to be more reliable than his defenders.
Mikel Arteta had been asked before the game if he needed players like Virgil van Dijk and Alisson added to his squad next season.
But it was Arsenal’s Luiz that had the stronger game last night, with Van Dijk and Alisson both making uncharacteristic errors.
And when it was put to him that Liverpool needed to sign the £8 million Arsenal man (Sky Sports), Klopp joked: “He’s signed a new contract, right?
“That’s football! These boys are human beings, from time to time they are not perfect.”

Klopp may not be looking to sign Luiz from Arsenal this summer, but a centre-back could be on his radar.
There is great uncertainty around Dejan Lovren’s future at Liverpool, even after Klopp’s positive comments about the Croatian this week.
If Lovren is to depart Anfield it could be that Liverpool look to add cover in defence, to avoid being left short in the position.
