Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has stated to the club’s official website that he thought Thiago Alcantara had a great game against Manchester United.
Liverpool could only muster up a 0-0 draw with United, but Thiago was one of the better performers in a red shirt.
The Spaniard showed off his full range of passing and was also tenacious in the tackle throughout.
While he was unable to pick the pass to unlock the United defence, Thiago’s composure on the ball was still clear for all to see.
And Klopp said: “Thiago played today a great game, a really good game, and I think it was his second start for us, so there’s space for improvement like how we work together and all these kind of things.”
Thiago actually came as close as any Liverpool player to scoring, when his long range shot was tipped wide by David de Gea.
The 29-year-old appears to be gaining some rhythm now, after what has been a difficult start to his Liverpool career.

Thiago has been injured for the majority of the time since his arrival on Merseyside.
But he could have a key role to play now, as Liverpool have hit a slump in form.
The Reds have failed to score in any of their last three matches and yesterday’s draw has left them sitting in fourth place in the Premier League table.
