Liverpool are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted to the Liverpool Echo that he still doesn’t know if Trent Alexander-Arnold will be fit enough to play this weekend.

Liverpool are due to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and there are some doubts over Alexander-Arnold’s availability.

The right-back missed out on playing for Liverpool against Genk in midweek due to illness.

And even though Klopp is hoping that Alexander-Arnold will recover in time, he admits that there are no guarantees that he’ll feature.

“We just rested [Matip]. He is fine and Trent is fine, we have to see. I haven’t seen him yet,” Klopp said.

“There is no setback, but he was ill enough to not travel. That was not a good sign. He should be fine but I don’t know 100 percent.”

If Alexander-Arnold does miss out against Tottenham it will be a blow to Klopp’s side.

The England international is a constant source of assists, and a hugely integral player in Liverpool’s style.

If Alexander-Arnold does miss out it seems likely that James Milner will get the nod to start at right-back against Spurs.
