Liverpool reportedly wanted to sign the Borussia Dortmund starlet last year.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp absolutely raved about Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho when speaking to reporters last night, labelling the winger as an ‘exceptional talent’, as quoted by the Mirror.

The 19-year-old joined the Bundesliga side from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, and he has gone on to rack up an impressive 14 goals and 23 assists in 55 appearances in all competitions.

And his performances have obviously impressed the powers that be at Liverpool.

The Liverpool Echo reported at the end of last year that the teenager was a £100 million target for the Reds.

And now Klopp has raved about Sancho, after his side lost 3-2 to Dortmund in a friendly match last night, as quoted by the Mirror:

“There is no doubt about the potential of Jadon Sancho. His speed and body control at the highest speed is his main strength. Yasser Larouci, our 18-year-old left-back, played against one of the biggest talents in world football and did pretty well the whole night. Jadon’s an exceptional talent but he’s not the only one for England at the moment.”

Sancho is still under contract with Dortmund until the summer of 2022, so it would take an enormous bid to prise him away from Signal Iduna Park.

Liverpool have the funds, however, and if they did manage to sign the England international, they would arguably have the most devastating front-line in world football.
