Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the EFL Cup yesterday evening.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm was in ‘wonderful’ form at Anfield.
Vorm was selected to start for Spurs in the EFL Cup, and the Dutch stopper had plenty of work to do.
Although Vorm was unable to stop Spurs falling to a 2-1 defeat, he did manage to keep them in the match by producing some fantastic stops.

Vorm saved well from Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings and Divock Origi during the contest.
And Klopp said: “Parts of the game was what I expected in a positive way, parts of the game I could imagine these things happen sometimes, loss of concentration.
“But overall summary is very positive. A deserved win, a big number of chances and a wonderful Tottenham goalkeeper. All good, and entertaining for the people.”

Despite Vorm’s excellence, Liverpool still managed to get past the challenge that Spurs gave them.
With both sides playing youthful looking sides, it was the experience of Daniel Sturridge which proved key.
The England international forward scored twice for the Reds, and although Spurs struck through Vincent Janssen it was not enough.
Liverpool will find out who they will face in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup later this evening, when the draw is made.
