Liverpool are in the race to sign Red Bull Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko as they consider a new striker in either January or the summer window.
That’s according to Spanish newspaper AS, who claim that Liverpool are battling Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City in the race for Sesko.
Liverpool know they need a new striker in the near future.
Roberto Firmino turned 30 just a matter of days ago and Divock Origi isn’t a reliable goalscorer.
Sesko could be the man for Liverpool, though he would be something of a long-term project.
The 18-year-old Slovenian has impressed this term, hitting seven goals and three assists in 16 games for Red Bull Salzburg.
Liverpool have a history of signing former Red Bull players like Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita, Takumi Minamino and Sadio Mane.
Sesko would be wise to keep developing in Austria, but the lure of Liverpool could be too strong.

Liverpool could land ‘Mini Haaland’ in Sesko
All the focus in terms of Red Bull prospects is on Karim Adeyemi, another Liverpool target.
Yet Sesko has earned a huge comparison to spark major hype.
Goal report that Sesko has been called ‘Mini Haaland’, comparing him to Borussia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland.
Haaland also emerged with Red Bull Salzburg before heading to Germany in 2020.
Liverpool would love to have Haaland right now, but maybe their profile is more geared towards the next Haaland – and that could be Sesko.
