Liverpool quite simply must beat Manchester City to the signing of the Real Madrid star this summer.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo claim that Manchester City have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Real Madrid ace Isco, but Jürgen Klopp must ensure that he wins the race for the Spaniard’s signature this summer.

Isco, 26, joined Madrid from Malaga in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £23 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of the continent’s finest attacking midfielders.

Due to the incredible quality currently present at Madrid, however, the Spain international is not a first-team regular under Zinedine Zidane’s regime, and a move away from the Bernabeu is surely what he needs to help reinvigorate his career.

Mundo Deportivo claim that City are lining up a £67.2 million swoop for Isco this summer, but Liverpool need to make sure they beat the Premier League champions to his signature.

Klopp is still on the look-out for a replacement for the recently departed Philippe Coutinho, and Isco would be the ideal candidate.

He possesses impeccable technical ability, and his playing style would see him slot perfectly into Liverpool’s system.

Isco can play in the wide left role or as part of a central midfield three, and he would add a much needed creative spark to the Reds’ engine room.

Barcelona won 3-2.

Beating City to the signing of the Spaniard will be easier said than done, but not impossible. Liverpool are a real draw in the game today, and the Madrid ace would surely be tempted into joining what is an extremely exciting project at Anfield.

The guarantee of regular first-team action could also help tip the scales in the Merseyside outfit’s favour.

Signing Isco this summer could take Liverpool to a whole new level entirely, and would surely make them City’s nearest challengers next season.
