Liverpool target Konrad Laimer is signing for Bayern Munich despite last-gasp attempts from English clubs to hijack the deal.
That’s according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Laimer is set to pass his medical with Bayern.
Laimer is signing a pre-contract agreement with Bayern and will join when his RB Leipzig contract ends this summer.
Plettenberg notes that English clubs did make late moves to try and change Laimer’s mind but he has picked a move to Bayern.
Laimer’s former Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is in charge at Bayern and the pair will now reunite in Bavaria.
It’s unclear just who wanted to lure Laimer to the Premier League but Liverpool may be a strong shout.

Liverpool’s need for a new midfielder or two… or maybe even three is hardly a secret.
The Reds must overhaul their engine room this year and Laimer appeared to be a prime target.
90Min reported in August that Liverpool were interested in bringing Laimer to Anfield before the summer transfer deadline.
Laimer all but confirmed to Sport1 in September that Liverpool were interested but the move ‘wasn’t so hot’ at the time.
Bild’s Christian Falk noted that Liverpool had been in contact with Laimer’s representatives to try and thrash out a move.
Laimer is a pressing machine and could have suited Jurgen Klopp’s style of play perfectly, so Liverpool’s interest made perfect sense.
Laimer even grew up loving Steven Gerrard, so following in his footsteps at Anfield surely appealed.
However, Laimer has picked a move to Bayern and we would assume that Liverpool were one of the clubs interested in a hijack.
Laimer can now be crossed off Liverpool’s list and the focus will be firmly on the likes of Jude Bellingham, Matheus Nunes and Sofyan Amrabat moving forward.
