Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, according to Calciomercato.

Calciomercato have reported that Tolisso’s situation at Bayern has put Liverpool on high alert.

The 27-year-old France international midfielder is out of contract at Bayern at the end of the season.

However, the German and European giants are planning to hand Tolisso a new contract to stop him from leaving as a free agent in the summer transfer window.

Do Liverpool need Corentin Tolisso?

In our view, Liverpool do not need Tolisso, but signing a player of his calibre, especially on a free transfer, could only enhance the Reds’ quality in midfield.

The 27-year-old is earning £115,000 per week as salary at Bayern (SalarySport), which is certainly something that Liverpool can match and better.

Tolisso is a very good midfielder who can impose himself in the middle of the park and also drive the team forward.

The Bayern star has scored two goals and provided one assist in seven Bundesliga starts so far this season.

Now, of course, we know that Thiago, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are quality midfielders, and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also has Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at his disposal.

However, if the chance to sign Tolisso on a free transfer is strong, then Liverpool should seriously consider it.
