Liverpool want Teun Koopmeiners and the Atalanta midfielder has admitted that links to the Reds are ‘nice to see’.
The Reds are undoubtedly in the market for midfield additions this year.

Jude Bellingham, Matheus Nunes, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have all been mentioned to some degree in recent weeks and months.
Atalanta star Koopmeiners can now be added to that ever-growing list.
Tutto Atalanta over in Italy claimed just a few days ago that Liverpool have made contact with Koopmeiners’ agency Wasserman, making their interest in the Dutchman known.
This came after iNews claimed last week that Liverpool have been watching Koopmeiners closely ahead of a potential bid.
Teun Koopmeiners flattered by Liverpool interest
Koopmeiners would be another Dutch addition for Liverpool after securing Cody Gakpo earlier this month.
Both players are international teammates of Virgil van Dijk and would add to the Dutch flavour at Anfield alongside coach Pepijn Lijnders.
Atalanta would understandably want big money – around £35million – for their star midfielder but his ability to play in front of the back four or as a box-to-box player will appeal to Liverpool.
Koopmeiners showed off his quality on Monday night, scoring what commentator Ian Darke described as an ‘absolute cannon’ from long range for Atalanta against Bologna.
That won’t calm down the rumours and neither will Koopmeiners’ comments on the situation.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Koopmeiners admitted that he has seen the rumours about a move to Liverpool, and he thinks the speculation is ‘nice to see’.
Koopmeiners did add that he is fully focused on Atalanta and is happy to play there, but he does seem flattered by Liverpool’s interest.
Liverpool have yet to make a firm move for Koopmeiners but with Jurgen Klopp and co weighing up midfield additions, the Dutchman appears to be a key name on the radar.
