Liverpool are closing in on Arthur Melo with the Juventus midfielder spotted heading for the airport ahead of a deadline day move.
The Reds suffered another injury blow on Wednesday night with Jordan Henderson picking up a hamstring injury described as ‘serious’ by Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool would probably have rather avoided a deadline day scramble for a new signing but they have been forced into the market.
With Jude Bellingham the top target for 2023, Liverpool don’t want to spend big now and rule themselves out of that chase next summer.
A loan or cheap permanent deal would be ideal and Liverpool appear to have struck an agreement.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio has broken the news that Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo is heading for Liverpool.
Arthur, 26, is surplus to requirements at Juventus and Liverpool have now swooped in with a season-long loan deal.
A medical is now imminent and Arthur will join fellow Brazilians Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino at Anfield.
Italian journalist Romeo Agresti has now posted a video showing Arthur heading to the airport to leave for England immediately.
Agresti claims the medical will take place this afternoon and, all being well, Arthur should be a Liverpool player well before tonight’s deadline.
Arthur hasn’t featured at all for Juventus this season and simply isn’t in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans in Turin.
Juventus paid £66million to sign Arthur from Barcelona in 2020, although they partly offset that fee by sending Miralem Pjanic in the opposite direction for £55million.
Call it a creative accounting move but there were genuinely high hopes for Arthur as he made the move to Italy.
It just hasn’t gone to plan for Arthur though and two years on from that move, he finds himself heading to Liverpool whilst trying to get his career back on track.
Should Arthur impress at Anfield, there may well be scope for a permanent move down the line, especially with James Milner and Naby Keita expected to leave next summer.
