Liverpool are in the hunt for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma – and his brilliant form continued on Sunday night.

The Reds had a look into signing Danjuma over the summer having excelled at Bournemouth last season.

With 17 goals and seven assists last term, the Dutchman was simply far too good for the Championship.

Voetbal International claimed last week that Liverpool are still closely monitoring Danjuma with a view to him replacing Sadio Mane in the future.

They even scouted him as Villarreal lost 2-1 to Manchester United. Danjuma terrorised Diogo Dalot, picking up an assist and even the man of the match award.

On Sunday, Danjuma started for Villarreal against Real Betis. He bagged both goals in a 2-0, continuing his stunning form.

Danjuma bagged his first by driving in from the left flank before placing a right-footed strike into the net.

Danjuma grabbed his second by darting in behind the Betis back four before rounding Rui Silva to tap into the empty net.

With four goals in just six La Liga games, Danjuma is on fire right now, with Liverpool’s interest far from a surprise.

Danjuma took to Instagram to celebrate, with Ivan Toney sending fire emojis about the winger whilst Juan Foyth celebrated ‘Danjumagic’.

Fenerbahce’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu called Danjuma ‘the best’ whilst Bournemouth’s Jaidon Anthony simply said that Danjuma ‘can’t be stopped’.

With more performances like this, Danjuma could find himself the subject of a Liverpool bid in 2022 – and current displays suggest he could be worth the hype.
