Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are ahead of Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, according to a report.

90min has reported that Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Gravenberch is frustrated at the lack of playing time at Bayern and has told the Bundesliga champions that he wants to leave and move to the Premier League.

The midfielder made three starts and 21 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and made two starts and four substitute appearances in the UEFA Champions League for the Bavarian giants last season.

According to 90min, although Manchester United are “interested in striking a deal this summer”, Liverpool’s talks with Bayern “are at a more advanced stage, and there’s a feeling that the Bundesliga giants’ stance towards a sale is softening”.

The report has added that Bayern could now offload the £200,000-a-week (The Mirror) 21-year-old Netherlands international midfielder for just over £20 million.

We believe that Liverpool need to be quick and get a deal done for Ryan Gravenberch now.

Manchester United are interested in the Bayern star.

And the summer transfer window will close in a matter of days.

Time is of the essence now.

If Bayern do have to sell the Dutchman in the final days of the summer transfer window, then the Bundesliga champions would love to have a bidding war and get as much money as they can for him.

And Liverpool have to avoid that scenario.
