Liverpool’s James Milner recently dropped some worrying news about his future at Anfield.

The CV of Liverpool’s James Milner is a pretty impressive one. From the number of high-profile clubs he has played for to the trophies he has won. It has been a very impressive career.
But the 33-year-old recently dropped some worrying comments about his future at Liverpool when he shared that the club didn’t want to do anything about his contract when he spoke to them last year, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
Milner has less than a year left on his current Anfield deal and Liverpool will regret not offering Milner a new deal if the current situation continues.
Whilst it is understandable that Milner’s age is the biggest factor behind this situation, the bigger picture of what Milner is offering should be looked at.
From his ability to play in various positions, keep himself in astonishing shape, offer calmness on the playing field and setting a seriously good example to the younger players on the training ground. Milner, who earns £140k-a-week [Spotrac], must be offered a new contract.

It does seem as though the decision to put contract talks on hold stems from the boardroom and not someone like Jurgen Klopp.
If it was up to Klopp and his coaching staff, they surely would want Milner to extend his stay at the club, just like the players would also.
Liverpool’s Champions League triumph in June was key for Klopp and if he wants to take that step and win that Premier League title in these coming years then keeping Milner on the books would be very helpful.
