Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are about to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the signing of Celtic youngster Ben Doak, according to The Liverpool Echo.
Ben Doak to join Liverpool, not Manchester City
The report has claimed that Liverpool are close to finalising a deal with Celtic to sign their 16-year-old attacking player.
Doak can play as a winger or as a central attacking midfielder.
The 16-year-old is also able to operate as an attacking full-back or as a wing-back.
Former Celtic player Jackie McNamara described Doak on Celtic TV after his debut as “an exciting talent” who has “got so much pace and directness”.
The Liverpool Echo have reported that Doak is yet to sign professional terms with Celtic, but the Scottish Premiership giants will be due compensation if Liverpool do sign him.
Manchester City and Bayern Munich also want to sign Doak, according to the report, but it is Liverpool who are set to sign him.

One for the future
In our opinion, Doak is one for the future and will make Liverpool better in the coming years.
That the teenager has already made his debut for the Celtic first team underlines his quality.
Liverpool could be able to sign a gem in Doak.
