Andrew Robertson is still out injured and is unlikely to feature for Liverpool against Brighton and Hove Albion this weekend.

The Reds are finally back in Premier League action again this weekend after almost a month without a top-flight game.

The passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the international break remarkably mean that Liverpool haven’t played in the Premier League since September 3rd.

That was a trip to Everton which ended in a 0-0 draw, and Liverpool will hope for much better against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Andrew Robertson is still out injured

Liverpool will be assessing their squad after international games, hoping that everybody has come back to Merseyside unscathed.

Diogo Jota was substituted for Portugal after asking to come off, but that was down to fatigue rather than injury.

Sadly though, the break hasn’t been long enough for left back Andrew Robertson to make his return to first-team action.

Robertson picked up a knee injury in September and missed the Champions League clash with Ajax as a result.

The Athletic now claim that Robertson is going to miss this weekend’s game and Kostas Tsimikas will again be given a chance to start.

Tsimikas, 26, had picked up three assists in just six Liverpool appearances this season – and he’s only started twice in all competitions.

The Greek international was outstanding against Ajax before the international break and seems to impress whenever given a rare start.

Robertson’s continued absence means Tsimikas will feature once again this weekend and he has a real chance to give Jurgen Klopp a dilemma.

Robertson has been Liverpool’s nailed-on starting left back for over four years now but Tsimikas has been a more than capable deputy.

If Tsimikas can keep impressing whilst Robertson is out, he may well be pushing for starts even when the Scot returns.

That sounds like a big ask, but that’s what Tsimikas has to aim for as he gears up for just a second league start of the season this weekend.
