England Under-17s capped off what has been a great year for the youth teams on the international stage by beating Spain 5-2 to win the Under-17s World Cup.

The hope will now be that these talented youngsters go on to make a name for themselves at their respective clubs and here are three who could soon get game time in the Premier League.

Rhian Brewster, Liverpool

The forward finished as the tournament’s topscorer with eight goals, which included hat-tricks in the semi and quarter-finals and a strike in the final.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who is no stranger to promoting youth, told the Liverpool Echo of Brewster: “I don’t like to make things like this too big but if you score twice a hat-trick it’s quite difficult to keep it a secret and we don’t want to do that.

“I had a little chat (with Rhian) after the last game, it was funny, I told him ‘save the number’ (Klopp’s phone number) and he said ‘I will, for sure’. Maybe that’s the first step but I knew it before.”

Phil Foden, Manchester City

Arguably the biggest star from the squad, Foden also has the difficulty of trying to break into a Citizens squad that is packed full of hugely expensive assets.

However, maybe Pep Guardiola – who was a big advocate of La Masia academy at Barcelona – will be the one to give the midfielder his chance.

Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Tottenham Hotspur

With so many youngsters having been given an opportunity and developed at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, there is no reason to think Oakley-Boothe won’t be the latest.

Especially when Pochettino was quoted by the Daily Mail saying: “From pre-season (Oakley-Boothe) was involved because he is a very talented player. He is a midfielder, box-to-box, good quality, good footballer, and I hope he will be important for us in the next few years.”
