Liverpool and Inter Milan could benefit by swapping the two players.
Reds boss Jürgen Klopp still has a lot of work to do in transfer window, if he is to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts, throughout the course of what will be an extremely challenging campaign both physically and mentally.
One particular area of concern for the German will be Emre Can’s contract situation, with just 11 months remaining on his current deal at Anfield, as the risk of losing him for nothing next year becomes an ever increasingly more realistic prospect.
And with this in mind, Klopp should consider offering the 23-year-old’s services to Inter Milan, in exchange for Geoffrey Kondogbia, who has been training alone following a huge bust up with club officials, according to talkSPORT.
Geoffrey Kondogbia
The 24-year-old is an absolute powerhouse, and would be the ideal addition to the Liverpool squad, with the high energy and intensity that he would bring.
The France international is a box-to-box midfielder in every sense, and could form a powerful trio in the Reds’ engine room alongside Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson.
Kondogbia is the ideal candidate to replace Can, should the Germany international leave Anfield of course, and Inter would surely be happy to acquire his services in exchange for the Frenchman’s.
Whilst the 23-year-old is an obvious talent, the Merseyside outfit can surely not risk losing him for nothing next year, and the opportunity to gain a player of Kondogbia’s ilk in return should not be one that is missed by Klopp and Liverpool.
