Liverpool are likely to rekindle their interest in Amadou Haidara this summer after Brighton and Hove Albion failed with a bid.
That’s according to The Independent, who claim that Brighton have made a cash offer to RB Leipzig in a move to sign Haidara.
However, the Bundesliga side don’t want to sell in January and Brighton have been sent packing.
Leipzig can anticipate summer interest for Haidara though with Liverpool and Manchester United allegedly keeping close tabs on him.
It’s stated that the two clubs are likely to rekindle their interest in the summer and could launch bids to prise Haidara away from Leipzig.
That may blow Brighton out of the water and the Seagulls may not get another chance to sign Haidara.

Liverpool target Amadou Haidara loves Steven Gerrard
Haidara has only started four Bundesliga games this season and few could blame him for fancying a move away.
Leipzig are set to lose Konrad Laimer to Bayern Munich in the summer though and probably don’t want to lose a midfielder right now.
Haidara, 24, joined Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in 2019 having excelled in Austria with 13 goals in 83 games.
The Mali international hasn’t quite been as prolific with Leipzig, scoring just 12 times in 133 outings.
Hailed as an ‘excellent footballer’ by his old Salzburg boss and now Leipzig head coach Marco Rose, Haidara has real talent as a box-to-box midfielder.
Haidara has even admitted loving Steven Gerrard, hailing the Liverpool legend as an ‘exemplary player’.
A move to Anfield would surely appeal to Haidara as a result, and Liverpool really need to retool their midfield.
Two, maybe even three midfielders are needed at Liverpool this summer and Haidara could now fit the bill.
Turning 25 later this month, Haidara still has untapped potential and the Reds could swoop pin to try and succeed where Brighton have failed.
