Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has spoken highly of his teammate Marcelo Pitaluga on the club’s official website.
Alisson has been impressed by the 19-year-old goalkeeper in training.
The Brazilian was named on the Liverpool bench for the Carabao Cup tie against Leicester City last week.
Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson has been really impressed by his compatriot, and has said that the teenager has wowed everyone in training.
Alisson on Liverpool teammate Marcelo Pitaluga
Alisson told Liverpool’s official website about Pitaluga: “Yeah, Marcelo is really talented.
“I saw him a few times back in Brazil, but I could know more about him here as a goalie and as a person as well.
“He is a really special boy, he is really excited about having the opportunity to play for Liverpool.
“Now he has settled in and is doing really well in training. He is a boy who trains really hard and is really dedicated for what he is doing. And someone who likes to learn as well.
“So it is really good to work together with him, not only for being Brazilian but for being a really good talent and such a good person.”

One for the future
Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers on the planet and is a world-class player.
Some would say that Alisson is ‘the’ best goalkeeper in the world.
So, in our opinion, we have to take his views and comments on Pitaluga very seriously.
After all, Alisson would know a quality goalkeeper when he sees one.
And, judging by his comments on Pitaluga, the 19-year-old does seem to be a promising young goalkeeper.
Liverpool signed Pitaluga from Fluminense last October.
The Brazilian has been training with the Liverpool first team, and that can only help him grow and progress as a goalkeeper.
