Liverpool destroyed Manchester United with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday night – and Gary Lineker felt even Alisson was better than the visiting players.

The Reds were outstanding in the first half and secured a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

United didn’t exactly pose much more of a threat in the second half and conceded two more with Sadio Mane and Salah again on the scoresheet.

That’s 5-0 and 4-0 wins over United this season for Liverpool, who just look to be streets ahead of their old rivals.

Very, very few United players came out of the game with any credit. You know it’s bad when a teenager – Hannibal Mejbri – is being praised just for putting in a few challenges.

There was little from Marcus Rashford or Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba was done inside 10 minutes.

Harry Maguire was all over the place yet again and David De Gea had little chance for any of the Liverpool goals.

United were so bad that pundit Gary Lineker took to Twitter to react.

Lineker suggested that even Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson had been better than every single United play on the pitch.

Alisson had a shaky couple of minutes to start the game as he was playing fast and loose with the ball.

Yet from then on it was a breeze for the Brazilian, barely having a save to make whilst yet again showing off his stunning passing range.

You can certainly argue that Alisson’s passing ability eclipsed anything United had on the pitch, albeit under much less pressure.

It’s another clean sheet for Alisson anyway, who now hasn’t conceded a league goal against United since May 2021.

Alisson will absolutely love that, but it’s damning for United’s big names that they weren’t even on the same level as Liverpool’s goalkeeper who only made one save.
