It was a huge vote of confidence for the youngster, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea this summer.
Solanke has found it slow to break through at Liverpool since signing, and has played just 85 minutes of Premier League football.
A loan deal would be smart if he aims to make next summer’s World Cup, and Southampton should look at making an offer.
Relations between the two clubs have not been great recently due to the Virgil van Dijk situation, but this could help repair the situation.
With their potentially eye still on signing Van Dijk long term, Liverpool may be more likely to accept an approach from Southampton than another club.
