Loris Karius’s increasing confidence for Liverpool is striking in his latest comments.

Liverpool's German goalkeeper Loris Karius (C) comes out to cut out a cross away from Manchester City's Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero (R) during the English Premier League football...

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, goalkeeper Loris Karius has said that fans can expect a lot more from him in the near future.

The 24-year-old has been one of Liverpool’s stand-out performers during the second half of the campaign in what has been a superb calendar year for him thus far, helping the Reds to the Champions League semi-finals.

The German keeper didn’t play a great deal during the first half of the campaign but often made a mess of the chances that manager Jurgen Klopp afforded him.

But the former Mainz star, a £4.7 million signing almost two years ago, is now comfortably ahead of Simon Mignolet in the pecking order.

And the young stopper claims that he’s only going to get a lot better.

“I hope there’s more to come, I’m pretty sure there’s more to come because I’m 24 years old, so for a goalkeeper it’s still quite young,” he told the Reds’ official website.

“I think I can improve in every part of my game, I have so much time ahead and I think there’s space for improvement in every single direction.

“I’m working every day to get better, the games help a lot because you can’t compare training to games. I’m pretty sure there’s a lot of space for improvement still.”

Karius’s comments stink of someone who is finally starting to believe in himself and so much of that is down to Klopp.

The keeper hasn’t always been adored by Liverpool fans and yet the German manager kept faith in him, kept believing in him and it’s paying off handsomely now.

It was unthinkable a few months ago to hear Karius speaking with such confidence about his own ability and fans of the Merseyside club will be delighted.
