Liverpool ace Coutinho puts in the worst shooting display of Premier League season so far

Coutinho failed to hit the target for Liverpool against Bournemouth.

Coutinho was the match winner for Liverpool against Stoke on the season’s opening weekend, but he struggled against Bournemouth.

There was no long range strike leaving the opposition goalkeeper stranded, instead Cherries stopper Artur Boruc was a spectator every time Coutinho let fly.

Coutinho had a total of eight shots at Anfield on Monday night, but woefully could not hit the target with a single one.

Not only was it the highest number of shots in a single match from a player without scoring, or hitting the target this season, it was the most attempts full stop.

We are only two weeks into the Premier League season, with just 20 matches played in total, but Coutinho’s poor shooting almost matched the record from the 2014/15 season.

That was Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, who managed nine shots without landing one on target in a single game.

Fans will be able to forgive the Brazilian after his match winning role a week earlier, and it’s fortunate the Reds got the three points against Bournemouth through Christian Benteke, but perhaps he should not get too carried away after his goal at the Britannia.
