The Liverpool midfielder only made two substitute appearances this season.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suggested that it would be amazing if he had some sort of part to play in the Champions League final against Tottenham in nine days time, when speaking to the club’s official website, although he admitted that he is far from guaranteed being given any action at all in Madrid.
The Englishman, 25, has been out injured all season, making just two late substitute appearances for the Reds, and whether Jurgen Klopp feels that he would be capable of handling a game of such magnitude on June 1st remains to be seen.
For now though, the Ox is just happy to be back involved with the first team.
The Liverpool ace explained, however, how he is still dreaming of playing a part for his side in the Champions League final next month, when speaking to the club’s official website:

“I wasn’t able to get loads of minutes [in the final league games], but I was happy to just come back. Dreams are made of maybe having some part to play in Madrid, but it’s not about me – it’s about making sure whoever is on the pitch does the job for the club and for the team. If I can be involved, that would be amazing, but just to be around it and be fit and healthy again is good for me as well at the minute.”
The Reds do have plenty of options in central midfield, although Naby Keita is facing a race against time to make the final in Madrid.
And if the Guinean does in fact miss out, Oxlade-Chamberlain could have every chance of featuring against Spurs, even if it’s for a few minutes at the end of the game.
