The England international right-back is one of the best players in the Premier League and was instrumental in the Reds’ title triumph last season.
According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old England international made 35 starts and three substitute appearances in the league for Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2019-20, scoring four goals and providing 13 assists in the process.
Alexander-Arnold has admitted that in the second half of last season, he found it tough and struggled to find space.
Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports: “Towards the second half of last season, or even the final quarter after everything that happened, I found it a little bit tougher to find the space and have that freedom.
“I found myself getting man-marked a few more times in games, which I wasn’t used to. When you pose a threat to the opposition, they look at it and try and stop it from happening. In my mind, if that’s happened to me it means that I’m doing something right.
“I can only try and keep doing that. Every season you’ve got to adapt and change your ways because everyone is improving. You can’t stay the same, you’ve got to keep improving. For me personally and for the team, we have to adapt to the new situation and adapt quickly.”
Superstar in the making
Alexander-Arnold has established himself as a key figure in the current Liverpool team and is one of the best players in his position in the world.
The Englishman is only 21 years of age, and if he continues to progress and develop in the coming years, then he will become a global superstar.
Liverpool will be aiming to win the Premier League title again this season and also compete in the Champions League.
The Reds’ opening game of the new season is against Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday.
