Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might not just be in his final season in Liverpool colours, but possibly his final few weeks.

Once again, injury has rocked and disturbed the 29-year-old’s season, but he was part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad that flew to a training camp in Dubai on Monday.

With the Qatar World Cup taking centre stage, including a few Liverpool faces still in the competition – Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker, the rest are preparing for the return of the Premier League on Boxing Day.

There are rumours that Oxlade-Chamberlain could head for the exit door during the January transfer window – his current deal on Merseyside expires in the summer, so either way, it’s now highly likely he won’t be at the club next season.

Well, as those rumours do the rounds, the player himself posted on Instagram ‘ticking over’, as he was pictured in training after only playing 29 minutes of Premier League football this season.

TIME FOR THE OX TO LEAVE

Whilst the former Arsenal man is playing for a giant of a club, even he will admit that it’s time he left and forged a new career path.

It’s probably unlikely he will sign for another team in the Champions League, unless he heads abroad.

But what the attacking midfielder needs to look for is regular minutes and starts, then luck that injury stays out of his way because it has played a part in his decline over the years.
