LIV Golf finally seem to be making some decent moves during the off-season.
Over the past few months, LIV has struggled while the PGA Tour continued to grow stronger, losing stars like Brooks Koepka and facing rejections from others.
Koepka’s exit marked a significant moment, raising doubts about LIV’s ability to handle such a loss.
Players like Si Woo Kim and Sungjae Im also reportedly turned down contracts from the league.
Even their latest signing, Max Greyserman from the PGA Tour, did not generate much excitement.
Despite a generally bleak outlook for LIV Golf, fans received some good news on Tuesday. It appears that two exciting players have committed to joining the Saudi-backed league before the 2026 season.
2025 PGA Tour winner reportedly set to sign with LIV Golf

The PGA Tour is firmly in control of the sport at the moment.
With that in mind, LIV knows it needs to bring in some quality signings before 2026 kicks off.
And it appears they may have just done that.
The Times reports that Thomas Detry and Elvis Smylie are both expected to join LIV Golf.
Detry is expected to join the 4 Aces, filling in for Harold Varner III, who is set to switch over to Smash GC.
Meanwhile, Smylie will join Ripper GC, taking the spot left by Matt Jones.
The 32-year-old Belgian won the Waste Management Phoenix Open back in 2025 and is seen as a solid addition for the Saudi-backed league.
On the other hand, the Australian already boasts two professional victories, including one on the DP World Tour, suggesting a very promising future.
Sam Horsfield signs new contract with LIV Golf
On top of bringing in Detry and Smylie, LIV are also focusing on keeping hold of their current players.
Horsfield has agreed to a new deal with the Majesticks for the 2026 season.
The Majesticks are now an all-English team, with Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood serving as co-captains, joined by Horsfield and recent addition Laurie Canter.
It will be worth watching the Majesticks in 2026 to see if they can turn things around after a disappointing first three years in LIV Golf.
Whether Horsfield can find another gear or Canter can make an immediate impact remains to be seen. But there is no doubt that 2026 feels like a critical year for the franchise under Poulter’s leadership.
