17-year-old Harvey White came off the bench as Spurs lost to their Premier League rivals in the International Champions Cup.

You’re not going to see the face of 17-year-old Harvey White on the back pages of tomorrow’s daily papers.
After Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the International Champions Cup, the attention will be focused firmly on match-winner Angel Gomes, who scored a lovely, Eden Hazard-esque individual goal late on to make it four wins from four for Ole Gunner Solskjaer in pre-season.
From a Spurs perspective, meanwhile, teenage striker Troy Parrott once again showed why he’s so highly rated and young midfielder Oliver Skipp more than held his own in the centre of the park.
But there’s a reason why many Tottenham fans have taken to social media to single out White after the game.

A relative unknown even in North London, White came off the bench on the hour to produce a performance full of energy, quality and tigerish determination at left-back. There was one perfectly timed challenge on Marcus Rashford and a clever dinked ball which United were forced to scramble clear.
The fact that Maidstone-born White is a central midfielder by trade makes his performance even more impressive.
First impressions count and White has certainly made a good one.
