Reported Rangers target Lyle Taylor has suggested on Twitter that he is not going to play for Charlton Athletic again.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wants to sign Taylor on a free transfer this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
The report has claimed of interest in the Charlton striker from Burnley, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Stoke City and Preston North End as well.
The striker has made 17 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship for Charlton so far this season, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
The 30-year-old would be a good option to have in the Rangers squad alongside Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe.
Taylor is out of contract at Charlton at the end of the month, and his post on Twitter suggests that the striker does not plan on playing any Championship game for the Addicks between now and then.
The Championship is set to resume this month, and although the 30-year-old is under contract at Charlton, he does not plan to play.
Charlton manager Lee Bowyer recently told The Guardian that the Montserrat international striker has refused to train.
Taylor, who recently explained his decision not to train or play for the Addicks in June to Sky Sports, has sent a message on Twitter, suggesting that he is not going to play this month and will leave the Addicks at the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Darragh MacAnthony, chairman of League One club Peterborough United, has suggested a solution that Taylor and Charlton could come to.
