Graeme Le Saux has described Sadio Mane as a ‘little bit naughty’ after spotting what the Liverpool star did to Everton’s goalkeeper.
Liverpool claimed the local bragging rights by hammering the Toffees 4-1 at Goodison Park tonight.
It was a rotten evening for the Everton player but some Reds fans would’ve loved subjecting Pickford to misery.
That’s because he was the player who injured Virgil van Dijk last season, with the Dutchman missing the guts of nine months with a knee injury.
And Le Saux, speaking on NBC Sports commentary, suggested that Mane might’ve tried to avenge the big centre-back.
In the second half, Liverpool attacker very nearly connected with Pickford’s ankle in a very late challenge.
Le Saux said: “Mane there. That’s a little bit naughty. There’s more to that than meets the eye – maybe last season?”
How the game was won
Jordan Henderson fired Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead, before Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage.
But Demarai Gray threw Everton a big lifeline by reducing the deficit to one goal before the half-time break.
But Liverpool scored two more brilliant goals through Salah and later Diogo Jota to make it a rotten event for the Toffees star between the sticks.
