Andros Townsend has been speaking to SPORF after the launch of FIFA 22, and he had some interesting things to say about his Everton teammates.
What’s the story?
Well, Townsend spoke about Ben Godfrey, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Demarai Gray, but his comments on Richarlison were intriguing.
After learning that the Brazil international has a five-star weak foot on the new FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, Townsend wasn’t happy.
Everton’s No.14 was shocked to hear Richarlison had the best statistic possible for weak foot ability, before revealing the news angered him.
Townsend told SPORF: “It’s a good card. Five-star weak foot? I’m a little bit angry with that, I’ve only got four-star.”
Now, the 30-year-old made the comment tongue-in-cheek, although he did seem genuinely shocked to hear Richarlison had a five-star weak foot.
Townsend sees the £40m South American nearly every day in training, so he knows better than us.
Clearly, Richarlison isn’t doing enough with his left foot in real life to make Townsend think it’s worth a five-star rating on FIFA 22.
Andros Townsend has every right to be annoyed

Let’s forget Richarlison’s weak foot for now, and focus on Townsend.
How have EA Sports failed to give him a five-star rating in that department?
The England international is excellent on both feet, and uses his right just as well as his left.
You only need to look at his left-footed screamer against Burnley, before he slammed a goal in with his right at Old Trafford, to see how well Townsend strikes the ball with both feet.

While at Crystal Palace, there were even times when he’d take corners with different feet, depending on what the angle was – very impressive.
If anyone in Everton’s squad deserves a five-star weak foot, it’s Townsend.
