Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Nat Phillips said to Trent Alexander-Arnold on pre-season duty.
What’s the story?
Well, Liverpool posted footage of the players reuniting after their summer breaks, where Phillips delivered a hilarious one-liner.
In the footage, we can hear Phillips telling Alexander-Arnold that he “bottled it” – the right-back then hits back.
We hear the England international say “I told you I was taking them out anyway” – you might be wondering what the pair are talking about.
Well, over the summer, Alexander-Arnold experimented with a new hairstyle.
As you can see, he asked his followers whether he should keep it, or go back to normal.
After arriving for pre-season with it back to normal, it’s clear to see he’d “bottled it” – as Phillips hilariously put it.
What does Jürgen Klopp do with Nat Phillips?
This is a big summer for Phillips.
The 24-year-old shone last season. However, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are all back in training, while Klopp has added Ibrahima Konate to the centre-back department.
In that respect, Phillips probably shouldn’t expect to receive as much game time as he did last term.
So, will he be content with a bit-part role, or will he seek a move away?
