Southampton are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer.

Southampton have received a major boost in their pursuit of Barcelona ace Paco Alcacer, according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, who claim that Lionel Messi has told club official’s to sanction the striker’s exit from the Camp Nou.
Sky Sports reported earlier this week that the Saints are closely monitoring the 24-year-old forward, as he continues to play second fiddle to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Barca.

The Spaniard joined the Catalan giants from Valencia in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £26.2 million, but he has really struggled to establish himself at the Camp Nou, scoring just 14 goals in 45 outings thus far.
He still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, though, and could prove to be a real asset for Southampton, if they do in fact manage to sign him in the summer.

The south coast outfit’s hopes of doing just that appear to have been given a boost, however, with Don Balon claiming that Lionel Messi has told Barca chiefs to sanction Alcacer’s exit from the club.
Something that will be key to the Saints’ hopes of signing the 24-year-old will be their ability to retain their Premier League status, and if they manage to stay up this season, they have every chance of bringing the Barcelona star to St Mary’s.
