Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Harvey Elliott being nominated for a prestigious award.
Liverpool-owned Elliott has been nominated for the EFL Young Player of the Season award for his performances for Blackburn Rovers this campaign, as announced on Monday.
The 18-year-old winger joined Championship club Blackburn on loan from defending Premier League champions Liverpool in the summer of 2020.
The English youngster has been brilliant for Blackburn this season and has established himself as a key player in the Rovers team.
According to WhoScored, the teenager has made 31 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Championship for Rovers this season, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists in the process.
The nomination was announced yesterday, and it has led to some Liverpool fans getting very excited about the winger.
Below are some of the best comments on Twitter:

Elliott is very young and lacks experience to play for the Liverpool first team week in and week out.
However, the English youngster has done well at Blackburn and has got some decent experience in a very competitive and rigorous domestic league.
It is still going to be tough for the teenager to establish himself in Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s first team next season.
Perhaps the Merseyside club will send the teenage winger out on loan again next season, this time to a team in the Premier League so that they can see how he does in the top flight of English football on a regular basis.
